My oh my….

Danzan Ravjaa in Khamriin Hiid, GobiImage by mikeemesser via FlickrI’ve been gone awhile, travels followed by the beginning of a new semester (I teach ESL at a uni in Northern Thailand— read my other blog here).

The Silkroad Foundation is another good source of links, maps, and articles pertaining to Inner Asian history.

The most recent issue of their journal contains two articles on the state of Buddhism in Mongolia today.

If you’re in the States, you might want to sign up for their newsletter, as they sponsor several talks nationwide about the Silk Road and Eurasian history.

For more on one man’s experience with Buddhism in Mongolia read this blog: Dreaming of Danzan Ravjaa. The author, a Buddhist monk from America, gives a both highly amusing and highly informative account of his experiences there.
